We are deep into winter and while everyone is dreaming of warmer months our Low Country winter has been mild with excellent fishing!

News

This past month, Junior Delatorre, released a sweet short film that captures the magic of our winter fishery! In mid December, Junior, Zack White and I had an opportunity to fish a cold morning and not only did a lot of cool stuff happen but we were able to get most of it on film. Highlights include active red fish pushing wakes down a creek bank, a really close eat, speckled trout taking flies from a deeper hole, longer cast to spookier red fish, and the general fun we have on the skiff. Fishing Report

Schools of red fish have been consistently holding in creeks and on flats. The clear water and visual cues of the fish moving have made for exciting sight fishing. For the most part these fish have been happy to eat but stealthy approaches, and careful presentations with both flies and light tackle have been key. Hungry sea trout have also been showing up in the creeks as well. So far, our water has been staying cold enough to keep the fish happy but not so cold that we start having problems. I expect our January activity to be continued through February.
